This journal is intended by the Russian Ministry of Higher
Education to be the bellwether periodical source of mathematics research
results in universities and other schools of higher education throughout
the Former Soviet Union. It emanates understandably from the seat of one
of the great schools of mathematics in Russia, founded at Kazan University
by the famous Russian mathematician Nikolai Lobachevsky. |

Russian Mathematics (Iz. VUZ) publishes articles in
almost all areas of pure and applied mathematics. Recent issues have contained
articles on the following subjects: |

Within each volume there usually are a few issues devoted
to special topics. Sometimes there is coverage of a particular topic in
issues of several successive volumes. Recent thematic issues have been devoted
to topological characteristics of nonlinear maps, differential and functional-differential
equations, geometry of generalized spaces, problems of optimization and
theory of mathematical programming, algorithmic and numerical analysis of
ill-posed problems, pseudovarieties of algebraic systems, and mathematical
models and numerical methods. |
