  The Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cyber netics was founded in 1970 by the outstanding mathematician, A.N.       Many members and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences are affiliated with this Faculty, including the Academy's current President, Academician Yuri S. Osipov. It was also here, in the Faculty's Department of Optimal Control, that L.S. Pontryagin worked for many years.
